Let's read now guys!
RAFFLESIA ARNOLDI
Raffesia Arnoldi or Padma Raksasa is an obligate parasitic plant that grows
on vines from the genus Tetrastigma. This plant was first discovered in 1818 in
the tropical forests of Sumatra by Dr. Joseph Arnold. Rafflesia Arnoldi is the
identity of Bengkulu province. This plant has flowers that expand with five
crowns and are the only plants that do not have roots, leaves, and stems.
Rafflesia Arnoldi has reproductive organs, namely stamens and pistils that lie
in the middle of the base of a curved flower. The process of pollinating these
plants is helped by insects that are attracted to the stinging smell of
flowers. Flower buds are formed along the sidelines of the stem with the flower
growth period can take up to nine months and the bloom period is about five to
seven days, then the rafflesia will wither and die.
Distribution and habitat of rafflesia are spread in mountain forests below
West Java, lowland forests along the southern beach of West Java and Central
Java, lowland forests of Meru Betiri National Park, and tropical forests on the
island of Sumatra. Some of the locations that are often found growing are
Rafflesia Arnoldi flowers in Kerinci Seblat National Park, Bukit Barisan
Selatan National Park, Seblat Elephant Training Center in North Bengkulu
district, and Padang Guci Kaur District, Bengkulu. Bukit Barisan Selatan
National Park is designated as the center of conservation of this plant.
Thank you.
