BIOGRAPHY OF R.A KARTINI

           Raden Ajeng Kartini was born on April 21, 1879 in Jepara. Another name is Raden Ayu Kartini. 
She is one of the most well-known female figures in Indonesia, namely as a persistent national hero 
to fight for women's emancipation. Kartini's parents are named M.A. Ngasirah is a religious teacher 
in Telukawur, Jepara and R.M. Sosreoningrat is a regent in Jepara. Kartini is the fifth child of 11 
siblings. Kartini was born to a noble family and was Muslim. Because she was born to a noble family,
she was entitled to a proper education. Her father sent her to ELS (Europese Lagere School). 
At twelve yaers old, Kartini was shut down. However, even though she was pinned downs she 
continued to study. Her goal is to see native women can study and learn like her even though they are 
not of noble descent. New ideas about the emancipation of women have changed people's views. 
Kartini also published books such as Nationalism. Kartini's letters to Stella Zeehandelaar 1899-1903, 
after Darkness of Light, Letters from Kartini, Call Me Kartinisaja, Kartini Letters Devotional About 
and For the Nation. In 1903, Kartini married a Regent of Rembang City named K.M. Duke Ario 
Singgih Djojo Adhiningrat. Although the marriage was forced by parents, Kartini continued to obey 
her parents because she wanted to make her heart happy and proud. But right a year after getting 
married September 17, 1904 Kartini died in Rembang, Central Java. Before she died, he had a child 
named R.M. Soesalit Djojoadhiningrat.
