        Katy Perry was born October 25, 1984 in Santa Barbara, California, America. Her full name is Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson. Katy Perry is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She is also adept at playing guitar and piano instruments. She is a descendant from England, Portugal, Germany, Ireland and Scotland. Katy grew up in a very religious family. When she was a teenager, she pursued a career in religious music. She is a daughter of Maurice Keith Hudson and Mary Christine. Katy has an older sister Angela Hudson and David Hudson's younger brother. Katy's first experience was singing in the church. At fifteen years old, Katy visited Nashville to gain song writing and recording experience. Because of this experience, Katy got a contract and signed it with a Christian record label, Red Hill, and recorded a song. However, the album didn't work.
